It is my honor and pleasure to welcome you to our Royal Ranger outpost and church. Royal Rangers is a program all about boys. In Royal Rangers, we do things boys like to do while at the same time fostering and developing their spiritual growth. We take all of the things boys like to do, whatever they are, and center them on Christian devotionals.
Some of the things boys like to do include camping, pinewood derby competitions, working with rope, working with tools, safety, first aid, electronics, computers, aviation, weather, animals, and a multitude of other fun activities. In pursuing these things, we also develop skills they need as young men so they can be “ready for anything,” as the Royal Ranger motto states.
We teach them to follow and we teach them to lead. Royal Rangers uses a “Patrol” method to group the boys into teams with a leader and assistant, called “guides.” The commander may also appoint boys to other outpost-level leadership positions, giving even more opportunity to develop, such as the Senior Guide, who leads the patrols in a group. Royal Rangers also offers the Junior Leadership Training Academy (JLTA), which consists of various different leadership camps designed to develop leadership skills. Boys in Adventure or Expedition Rangers who earn the Gold Medal of Achievement may also become junior commanders. Royal Rangers strives to be a boy-led, adult-facilitated ministry.
We have an exciting program and hope you will be a part of our team! Scott McCarty Senior Commander |
